Emmaus Road, do these things go together? Palm Sunday during a pandemic?

When we meet via ZOOM together, for Psalms and Prayers at 10:30am, Palm Sunday will feel very different this year. How can we engage in our typical palm-branch-waving conga line frenzy? We won’t be doing that. There is an important part of the Palm Sunday story, though, from Luke’s account, offering us insight.

We must always acknowledge the tension of this day: the shadow of Good Friday’s cross looms over the enthusiastic exultation greeting Jesus on his arrival to Jerusalem. What did Jesus see, as he looked ahead to Passover? What does he want us to see now, with spiritual understanding, souls shaped by the Holy Spirit, for this time?

INTRO TO LORD’S PRAYER

Is there anything left to be said about this short prayer? Isn’t everyone already familiar with the details? Well, Pastor Eric Likkel managed to come up with a brief, five-minute video about it. Please check it out on the new Emmaus Road YouTube. Let’s discuss it when our virtual Happy Hour is launched after Easter (at least that is what Pastor Likkel hopes)!
