“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14

We are probably all sick of waiting. But Advent is a time we remember the value of waiting. Israel waited for the Messiah. Zechariah and Elizabeth waited for a child. Simeon and Anna had been waiting to see the “consolation of Israel.” Little kids wait to open presents on Christmas Day. But we are all sick of waiting for this pandemic to be over. Is there anything about this season of the Church calendar, with its associated stories, that could help us in our waiting?
