TREE & TEMPLE

“…he found nothing but leaves.”
“On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there.”
see Mark 11:12-24

Jesus approached a leafy fruit tree, but found no fruit. Jesus entered the Temple courts, but found no space for gentile visitors.

Weird stories from long ago? Or is there actually a reason – more universal – that this intriguingly constructed story made it into Mark’s narrative?
