Why “Good” Friday? – April 10th

TONIGHT, at 7pm, we join together for Word, Prayer, and Sacrament.

The last seven words of Jesus from the cross will be read by a few members. A short meditation will follow, on the “good” that comes from what we remember of this day.

We will all be together in prayer, but we will also be invited to respond by eating and drinking; come to this moment with a cup and some bread at home. Separated by distance, we will eat and drink in our homes. United in time and in faith, though, we will still do something significant “in remembrance” of the Lord, all together.

Will it be weird to practice Communion in a ZOOM meeting? Perhaps. But we are exploring OTHER SACRED SPACES during this time, to continue fellowship and strengthen faith.

INTRO TO LORD’S PRAYER

Is there anything left to be said about this short prayer? Isn’t everyone already familiar with the details? Well, Pastor Eric Likkel managed to come up with a brief, five-minute video about it. Please check it out on the new Emmaus Road YouTube. Let’s discuss it when our virtual Happy Hour is launched after Easter (at least that is what Pastor Likkel hopes)!
