Not too many parents would name their kids after him, but Onesiphorus has a good reputation from his one mention in the Bible.
“You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me,
including Phygelus and Hermogenes.
May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus,
because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.”You don’t need to be a scholar to figure out what the Apostle Paul was writing about. The contrast is clear between individuals who were faithless versus faithful, at a time of need.
Last Sunday we spent time learning about the FAITHFULNESS of God. Tomorrow, we spend time reflecting on how the Fruit of the Spirit – specifically FAITHFULNESS – factors into relationships across the body of Christ.

FUNDRAISING
By Sunday night, look for a communiqué from the church Stewardship Team (Treasurer Christina, Stewardship Elder Brian, Pastor Eric), regarding contributions to help Emmaus Road tackle our 2015/16 IRS debt. There will also be background information on the launch of a new fundraising cycle. Brian will begin following up with people individually, later in the week.
YOUNG CHURCH TALK
How are things evolving across our Young Church, with POD19, Big Kids, and Godly Play? How are leaders shaping the vision? How are our kids shaping the vision? What questions or suggestions do parents have? Let’s meet virtually on Wednesday, October 28th at 7 pm. We will likely host a few breakout rooms to facilitate focused conversations for each group.
